Hormones, some types of hormones and their some functions in humans body

HORMONES:

Hormones are the chemical messenger and performs many functions of our body. Many glands, organs and tissues make and release hormones.

  • In human body, hormones are of two types of hormone's communication.
  1.   The communication between two endocrine tissues.
  2.   The communication between the endocrine tissue and the target organ.

Some types of hormones:

  •   Estrogen
  •   Progesterone
  •   Adrenaline
  •   Thyroid hormones
  •   Growth hormone
  •   Cortisol
  •   Insulin
  •   Testosterone
  •   Melatonin

Some functions of hormones:

  •   Estrogen:                                                                                                                                It is known as the female sex hormone. Estrogen hormone is released from female's ovaries. This hormone performs many functions in females such as Ovulation, Menstruation cycles, Increasing bones.
  •   Progesterone:                                                                                                                              The female reproductive system contains Progesterone hormone. This hormone performs many functions such as maintains  menstrual cycle, prepares uterus for pregnancy stages.
  •   Adrenaline:                                                                                                                             This hormone produces in the adrenal gland and within some cells of nervous system. Adrenaline is known as "stress hormone".

  •   Thyroid hormones:                                                                                                                           Thyroid hormone produces in the thyroid gland. It helps to regulate body's metabolism.
  • Growth hormone:                                                                                                                             Growth hormone is produces by pituitary gland. This hormone play a vital role in growth.

  •   Cortisol:                                                                                                                               Cortisol hormone is produces by adrenal gland. It is known as  steroid hormone. It maintains our blood pressure. It forms memories. It acts as Anti-inflammatory.

  •   Insulin:                                                                                                                              Insulin produces by Pancreas. Insulin maintains our blood glucose.
  •  Testosterone:                                                                                                                              Testosterone is a men's reproductive hormone. It produces Red Blood Cells in both human males and females.

  •   Melatonin:                                                                                                                               A pineal gland presents in human's brain produces melatonin    hormone. Melatonin hormone maintains our sleep or wake cycles.
